| A New CD From the Ardoin Legacy **Le Tracas de Morris** featuring Morris Ardoin with Dennis Stroughmatt |
| This new cd by Morris Ardoin features timeless renditions of many well known Louisiana Creole songs as well as new songs by Mr. Morris that are sure to become classics in the Louisiana Creole tradition. Some traditonal songs include "Eunice Two-Step," "Jolie Bassette," and "Lake Charles Two-Step" whereas new additions by Mr. Morris include "Morris' Blues," "Le Tracas de Morris," and a new rendition of "Le Valse a Kaplan." This cd was produced and recorded over several months in 2004 by Dennis Stroughmatt and Rick Lagneaux at Totallyswamped Studios in Lafayette. LA. Dennis Stroughmatt, a long time student, performer, and preservationist of Louisiana French Creole music has toured extensively with Morris Ardoin and plays fiddle and sings on this recording to step up and add his voice to the tradition as well. Other guests in this all star line up include Blake Castille, Dr. C. Ray Brassieur, D'Jalma Garnier, Rick Lagneaux, and Dexter Ardoin. This cd was first released independently in November 2004 by Dennis Stroughmatt and Morris Ardoin, and a few of those limited print cd's are available. As of January 2005, "Le Tracas de Morris" will be available on "Maison de Soul Records" though cd's will remain available for purchase on this website.
